Project Overview
This role gave me the opportunity to help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere at one of the premier wellness destinations in the Amsterdam area. My experience at Nagomi Spa encompassed a diverse range of responsibilities that allowed me to develop key professional skills and valuable insights. Starting as a receptionist and later advancing to spa supervisor, I learned the true value of delivering exceptional customer service, managing multiple tasks efficiently, and maintaining a calm and positive attitude—even during the busiest moments.
My Contributions
I was actively involved in training new team members and overseeing the operational aspects of the spa, ensuring smooth day-to-day performance. In addition, I played a key role in leading various marketing initiatives that enhanced the spa’s visibility and helped attract and retain a loyal clientele. During my time at Nagomi Spa, these efforts contributed to the spa reaching the number one spot on TripAdvisor, further cementing its reputation for excellence. I am proud to have been part of such a renowned establishment and to have contributed to its continued success.

Daily Tasks

As Spa Supervisor at Nagomi Spa, I oversaw daily operations to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for every guest. My responsibilities included managing bookings, responding to inquiries, greeting and guiding guests, handling payments, and promoting premium cosmetic products from Sothys.

I also trained new team members, coordinated orders, and maintained all spa amenities to keep operations running efficiently. Additionally, I attended monthly meetings at the Cocon office to stay updated and aligned with company goals. This role allowed me to strengthen my customer service, organizational, and sales skills while gaining valuable insight into the wellness and self-care industry in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

As Supervisor at Nagomi Spa, my role goes beyond traditional responsibilities. I have taken an active role in managing the spa’s marketing efforts, applying my creative skills to design menus, seasonal and festive promotions, post-treatment cards, and more. I also curate the spa’s product display windows, strategically placing them in high-traffic areas such as the hotel corridor, wellness section, and garage. This involvement allows me not only to provide exceptional service at the front desk but also to enhance the spa’s visual appeal and promotional initiatives. Through these responsibilities, I have gained valuable experience in creating outstanding first impressions for clients, contributing to Nagomi Spa’s reputation for excellence in customer care.

Loyalty Card Program

I led a strategic marketing initiative at Nagomi Spa to enhance customer loyalty and attract new clients through the launch of a Fidelity Card Program. This program offered exclusive rewards and benefits, driving repeat visits and strengthening long-term relationships with guests.

Post-facial Care Cards

Recognizing the enthusiasm of our guests for post-facial care, I spearheaded the creation of informative cards as a thoughtful addition to Nagomi Spa's services. These cards offer valuable tips on continuing skincare at home, enhancing the benefits of our facial treatments. By seamlessly integrating product recommendations, particularly from our Sothys line, this initiative not only contributed to increased product sales but also heightened client satisfaction with their facial experiences. Essential Oils Cards

I took the initiative to design informative cards for each essential oil used in our aromatherapy treatments. The cards categorize the oils into three key benefits: harmonizing, energizing, and relaxing. This visual guide helps clients make informed choices based on their individual needs, ensuring a personalized and satisfying aromatherapy experience tailored to their wellness goals.

Menu Makeover

I redesigned Nagomi Spa’s menu to highlight the  treatments with a clean, visually appealing layout that enhances the guest experience. Click on the image next to view the menu I created.

Primarily composed of text, posed a challenge in effectively showcasing the diverse range of experiences available to our guests. In response, I took the initiative to craft a visually engaging menu that not only communicates information but also enhances the overall aesthetic appeal.

Nagomi Spa New Menu

With carefully chosen images and design elements, the new menu offers a more engaging and immersive experience, helping clients better understand the transformative treatments we offer. This update not only makes our offerings easier to navigate but also aligns with the high Japanese standards of the 5-star Okura Hotel, reflecting Nagomi Spa’s commitment to providing a visually pleasing and holistic experience for every guest.

Photoshoot

I played a pivotal role in a recent photoshoot conducted by Nagomi Spa, where I was able to collaborate closely with the team, conceptualizing and crafting the ambiance, decorations, and intricate details that set the tone for the images to be used in the promotional materials and marketing of the space. From designing the spaces to curating the décor elements, I ensured that every aspect captured the essence of Nagomi Spa's unique and inviting atmosphere. You can check some images in this slide.

Windows (Visual Merchandise)

To promote Nagomi Spa treatments and Sothys products within the Okura Hotel, I conceptualized and curated engaging displays throughout the property. I introduced QR codes around the hotel, giving guests easy access to the spa menu and encouraging bookings at the third-floor reception. I also kept the Sothys product displays fresh and appealing by updating them seasonally and for special occasions such as Christmas, Mother’s and Father's Day, Valentine’s Day, etc. This initiative created an inviting and dynamic atmosphere, inspiring guests to explore Nagomi Spa’s offerings and indulge in premium Sothys products.

As the lead for all window product displays at Okura, I have implemented initiatives to enhance the guest experience and showcase our offerings. One highlight was a comprehensive four-floor display near the parking area, featuring elements from our range of treatments to attract and engage guests. Using my expertise in visual merchandising, I curate displays in key locations—including the wellness area, wellness corridor, the spa entrance, reception, and parking area—ensuring maximum visibility and impact.
